Characteristics
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (often called GAD) is characterized by excessive worry and anxiety that is difficult to control. Most individuals with Generalized Anxiety Disorder have at least three of the symptoms below on most days (lasting for at least six months):
- Feeling restless or "on edge"
- Getting easily fatigued
- Having difficulty concentrating
- Irritability
- Muscle tension
