Habits (Nail Biting, Hair Pulling, etc.)

Habits like nail biting and hair twirling are common in childhood and can often extend into adulthood. When the problem becomes excessive or unhealthy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy can often be helpful in reducing symptoms. These problems are often not easy to treat unless the child is highly motivated to stop; if so the child can often significantly reduce their habit using thought strategies and relaxation methods.

Contact Behavior Therapy of New York to help your child control his or her habits.
