Peak performance training can bring your performance to the next level and give you a mental edge on your competition.
Athletes of all abilities and levels can improve their performance through mental skills training. Dr. Udewitz applies research-based methods to help athletes improve motivation to train, sharpen focus during competition and peak for the big event.

Performance enhancement methods include visual imagery and mental practice training, cognitive restructuring, relaxation training, and biofeedback. In mental practice training, athletes are taught visualization techniques where they imagine themselves performing strongly and successfully.

Studies have shown relaxation training and biofeedback can improve focus and performance.

Cognitive restructuring is used to help athletes improve motivation and reduce the negative thoughts and unhelpful worry often associated with performance. Relaxation training helps athletes improve awareness and reduce the physical tension that often impedes performance. Biofeedback approaches teach athletes to regulate their physiological functioning, which gives them ultimate self-control in training and competition.

Dr. Udewitz combines scientific research and his personal experience as a competitive runner in his work with athletes. He has applied these approaches in his work with elite athletes and beginners in sports such as golf, tennis, running, fencing, swimming, and cycling.
